Bespoke were engaged to assist with the design and installation of several barrier nets, a walk-on net, and three cargo / climbing nets for a new ‘Discovery Centre’ in the National Museum of Australia.
Through multiple workshops with the builder, the project engineer, the playground auditor and the project fabricators, we worked through the scope to ensure the design was suitable for all parties. This required a considerable amount of review given the constraints that needed to be considered, including playground regulations / standards, structural suitability, material availability, fixing methods, design intent etc.
The barrier nets and walk-on nets were both made from 5mm x 45mm polypropylene in black and lashed to 40mm powder coated steel tube.
The cargo nets were hand spliced by Bespoke’s skilled team and were made of 12mm Hempex.
